The Alaskian outdoors is blended so well it all becomes music. The sounds are authentic for Alaska. You can close your eyes, and you're there. (Posted on 9/21/13)
I bought this CD years ago. To this date, it is my favorite mellow music album. The Alaskan outdoors is blended in so well, that it all becomes music. The sounds are authentic for Alaska. I hear many of those in my own yard here. As an Alaskan resident for over 25 yrs, it's a pleasure to hear the sounds of summer in the dead of winter. (Posted on 7/19/13)
I happened to spot a cassette version of "Alaska" in the sale bin of our library many years ago. It cost 25 cents, and believe me it was the BEST quarter I ever invested in anything; the product is priceless....We were totally captivated by the beautiful music, each selection of which casts it magic upon the ears. We decided to play it when we went to bed one night and realized it lulled us to sleep and we never heard the tape click off. Now we play it every night; and I mean EVERY night because it helps us get to sleep with the most beautiful and positive sounds filtering into our heads. We love the talented musicians. Have heard some of the other tapes but none does what this one does. (Shenandoah comes close though.) "Alaska" is one of the best things to come into our lives for sure! (Posted on 5/7/13)
While receiving back acupuncture recently my therapist played this lovely CD. I was so taken with the beauty of the music that I had to rush home to order it. I will now have it wherever I go - on my iPhone, iPad and iPod. Listen to it . . . it's wonderful. (Posted on 12/29/12)
We heard this CD while touring Alaska. I've now used it to set my pictures to music on a DVD for our family..
You can close your eyes and you're there..
Very relaxing to listen to (Posted on 2/25/12)
I've had this beautiful music for many years (before CD). I find such peace in these works each time I play them. Wonderful! (Posted on 9/17/11)
I've had this CD for over10 yrs. I brought it home from a cruise to Alaska as a nifty souvenir not knowing how important it would become to my family. Shortly after returning, my brother-in-law fell desperately ill & was in the hospital with only a 10% chance of survival for over 5mths. Their small children where gently passed from relative to relative while my sister kept vigil at the hospital. By the time they came to me, the kids were so stressed out and scared they couldn't sleep. I just happened to put this CD on (out of my own exhausted desperation) when I put them to bed one evening.. and MAGIC happened in the form of blessed peace. From that day to this, whenever they visit, this CD goes in at bedtime. Imagine a rebellious 17 yr old saying, "I'm too old to go to bed. I'm going to play my Game Boy," but who is blissfully asleep by the end of the 1st song -- MAGIC. I've given away every spare copy I've bought of this CD: to mother's with fussy babies; friends suffering from chemo & cancer treatments - well, you get the picture. It's an amazing gift -- MAGIC! We bought this CD on our Alaska honeymoon 3 years ago and listened to it in our cabin while we watched the wildlife gliding past from the comfort of our suite. Every time we listen to it, it brings back very fond memories of that once in a lifetime experience. (Posted on 4/27/10)
This is one of the series of CDs produced by Orange Tree Productions, most of which showcase recorded sounds from our National Parks (The National Park Series) that are then combined with beautiful and relaxing music. I was first exposed to these remarkable recordings after buying one at the Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii. Right now I have eight different CDs and have enjoyed them all. (Posted on 2/22/10)
